The Take Over is a project that allows people to overtake previously disused and abandoned mega-structures, converting them into transformable entities that may foster growth and generation.  The dormant Oakland Coliseum would be treated as a coral reef that is undergoing rehabilitation; as an opportunity for people and home-grown programs to overtake unoccupied space, that would reconnect the neighboring urban fabrics, and create a generative community that grows and stems off of these mega urban nodes. Stadiums could have retrofitted slotted buildings that grow from existing structure, the existing stadium seating could be converted into planter beds creating one of the largest urban farms, and the large floor plates could expand and host new programs necessary for a flourishing urban environment.
