Potato Chip Relief //
Potato Chip memorial is a museum that commemorates foreign travelers for pathing new pathways for their future descendants. Angel Island in the Bay Area is full of history; the island was an active military base while also being a main hub for Asian American immigrants. During this project it was important to me to shed light onto the historical friction that this island possess with the spaces that I would develop. To convey a hard path spatially, I experimented with different confined hallways that could then lead to expanded relief exhibits. Within the museum, each form of congestion would lead one to an oversized, exposed space signifying the end of a journey.
